Jennifer Juniper, 25 Feb 2009 14:41 I'm from the Garden of England - Kent although we used to live in Cambridgeshire, in a cute little village called Elsworth.
Now we live in Goudhurst, Kent which is even prettier.
Yes, we have a CPL branch here too which is working hard to educate people about cats.
I put up notices about I Like Cats website (this one) in all the local vets offices when I first found it. It has changed a bit now, but I like it better now than it was before.

Janet Sutton, 26 Feb 2009 20:43 What a small world ! Yes, we live in Kent too - actually in Folkstone. And I volunteer for the Cats Protection League down here.
I also rescue and re-home cats through working with the local newspaper and persuaded them to do a weekly column featuring a new cat each week which needs a good home.
They were delighted because it made more people read the paper, and we were delighted because we homed three or four cats in the first month that way.
Editors are often looking for regular short articles with local interest, so if you are trying to help cats locally, then join the Cats Protection League, and contact your local newspaper to see if they will run a short weekly spot. The one we have is entitled "I NEED A NEW HOME" and it is about the cat, the colour, the personality, and what hardships they have endured. You can give the phone number of the local CPL (Cats Protection League) or you can give your own phone number. The paper also offers to put their number too.
This is a brilliant way of finding new homes so I hope this helps others who love our feline friends.
Best Wishes
Janet
