Do You Like Cats or Dogs Better ?

I am a cat lover, they are so independent yet loving, and my girlfriend does not really like cats, she prefers dogs.

Since we are thinking of moving in together, I am worried how the two pets will get on together and whether maybe they will be the cause of arguments between my girl and I - I hope not because I really like her a lot.

I cant understand why she prefers her dog (a tiny Yorkshire terrier) better than my Moggy cat. My cat is a male, and is quite dominant even though he has been neutered.

I would like to hear what other people have to say about it.

Thanks for your time.

We just came back from your beautiful country from a holiday, it was super.

Our family loves cats AND dogs. They each have different temperaments and personalities, so it is difficult to say why one likes one and one likes the other.

But so long as your gf does not absolutely HATE cats, then it should work out well. It is inevitable that one of them will become 'top dog' or the Alpha leader of the little pack, but they will sort that out themselves.

Try to find out why your gf does not like cats, maybe she had a bad experience with one when she was little? She will gradually come around to liking them, and even loving them, as they are so intelligent and loving.

Dont worry I am sure it will all work out.

I love animals generally, they are so trusting and loving (until they are hurt by a human) that in fact I probably prefer them to many of the humans I know.

We have both cats and dogs and each cat or dog has its very own personality. So it is impossible to say which I prefer. It would be like asking me if I prefer a pineapple to a tomato.

We are strict vegetarians too which as most people know is much more healthy than eating dead animals.

best
