Our cat has been lazy and off her food now for three days. She is yawning a lot and just does not look well.

She keeps trying to hide behind the sofa. I know my children go off their food if they are sick with a fever, and wonder if it is the same with cats?

Should we try to take her temperature to see if she is sick ?

Advice would be good, thanks all.

Take your cat to the vets as soon as possible.

There is something obviously wrong, since cats love to follow routines and it could be something nasty.

Cats temperature is usually taken rectally, but let the vet do that for you.

If you are on a tight budget there are lots of cat charities which will put you in touch with vets who dont charge so much.

Look on this site for vets in your area and tell us how you get on.

Even if you took her temperature and it was very high, what would you do ? Get her to the vets pronto. Never give a cat aspirin or paracetamol unless your vet tells you to.

Good luck.
