I've been a 'lurker' for months on this cats website, and am very glad I found it as we had just moved here to Oxford, and did not know any good vets.

Asking neighbours did not help because they all have dogs.

We checked here on ilikecats and found a briliant veton Westway Botley in Oxford, which is not far from us.

They were kind, helpful and not expensive. If you live anywhere near Oxford this vets is the cats whiskers and I cannot say how fantastic they were. We did not have to sit there for hours and hours either.

AND they wiped down the examination table in between patients, with the vet doctor washing his hands carefully in between seeing patients.

Exemplary vets - give it a try - you wont be sorry.

We've taken in homeless cats, some of them starving. It's amazing how quickly they adjust to life in the lap of feline luxury.

Brad - What a kind person you sound.

Yes, cats who have not had the benefit of a good home life do adapt quickly to being fed and taken care of nicely.

You are very kind to do it. But they do repay you with lots of love and affection.

Your starving cats may have worms though? Did you give them a de-wormer to make sure they dont ? That can make them look very very thin too, because any food the cat eats goes to feed the worms, and not themselves.

Our vet gives us Drontal which actually kills an digests the worms, which is better than having them come out the other end in the litter box. EWWWW

When can you come back to the UK - we need people like you !

Best

Dawn
