Our cat went missing - we hunted the house down, then scoured all the neighbours houses and sheds for him.
Eventually I found him curled up in the bottom of the linen cupboard on my old dressing gown.
He growled when I went near which he never did before.
The vet says he has a urinary tract infection and we are trying to make him drink plenty of water, but it is VERY hard. Can anyone suggest how we can add more water to his diet please ?
Thank you

Re: Instant Urinary Infection In 6 Year Old Cat
Boy cats seem prone to this problem.
I think it is to do with crystals forming in the bladder.
We give our cat skim milk cut 50-50 with water so he always gets plenty of water.
My friend feeds her cat only raw chicken breast which is chopped, liquidised (yuk) and then frozen.
She scoops it out like ice cream, so the cat gets the protein of the chicken plus the water.
Let your cat sit on the wash hand basin and play with a trickle of water from the tap, often they will then lick their paw or lap the water from the basin.
Tell us how you get on please, we will be thinking about you.

Re: Instant Urinary Infection In 6 Year Old Cat
this is a cat emergency - take him to the vets right away. there is probably an infection as well as crystals.
they can die from this.
our cat hid in the garden shed for two days but we found him eventually, just in time according to the vet.
