My Cat's Death

My cat passed away on the 22nd of July at 12.38.
He was my best friend for 12 years and as you can guessI am devistated by his death. He went of his food so I took him to the vet who said it was a chest infection and gave him a jag and said he may need an operation. Patch refuses to take pills he just gave you a look of total disgust and then through the pill away. The vet said to come back in 10 days if the cat was no better. I waited a couple of days and then one morning he started hacking and then foaming at the mouth so I took him to the PDSA as I can not afford to pay for the operation and I was not happy with the vet but he died on the bus on the way to the PDSA and I feel that I should have just takeb him to the vet he might still be alive and I feel that I killed my cat. I took him home with me and have buried him in the garden and I talk to him every day.
I have told my family but they say that I did eveything for the cat and that he was better fed than I am.
I miss him so much and I would like to :
Make sure that :
1. No pet owner goes through the terrible time I have had.
2. How long do you think I should wait before getting a new cat.
I feel my cat would be hurt if I got a new one right away.

i really feel for you,i lost my dog angel so i know how you feel.
just think of the good times you had.
i got a new kitten he is a norwegian forest cat he is like a therapy cat to me he taps on my face when im feeling sad i dont know what i would have done with out him.storm has helped me through the sad times.
