Our Cat Watches Cartoons

Does your family cat watch television too ? Ours seems to love the cartoons the best, and the very best for her seems to be Tom & Jerry.

On the other hand, she also likes to watch nature programmes, and seems particularly interested in penguins. Maybe it is just the way they walk or the movement of them.

She sits there totally entranced, she sits right in front of the screen, and now and then she gently 'paws' the image with one of her front feet.

Is she unique or do other cats do this ? And if so, what is their favourite programme

Hi Dimitri

Yes, our two cats sit right in front of the tele and watch it.

They like nature programmes with running water, and also ones which show lots of birds flying. Sometimes Trudy gets up on her back legs and tries to touch the birds with her front paws.

There was a David Attenborough documentary on the other days about fish, and it showed shoals of tiny fish moving together, and they both loved that one especially.

Well it was just before tea time so maybe it made them hungry ?

Our two cats paw at the television screen whenever a programme comes on about fish and especially when they are swimming underwater.

The sit in front of the screen, like five inches away, and lift up a paw to touch the swimming fish.

It is so funny to watch. One of them Gemmy, actually meowwws to the fish too, making soft meowww sounds.

Cats are such lovely animals. We love ours.

Hahahaha! My cat watches sometimes when he is busy grooming on the couch. He will lie on his back leaning foreward licking his tummy and then stop and stare. Sometimes you can see his eyes follow the movements. It generally happens when I'm watching a movie. Sometimes he will sit on HIS couch before falling asleep while watching. Such an adorable little rascal.
