What Type of Cat Litter Do You Use ? Which is Best ?

My friend told me that it is possible to get 'flushable' cat litter now.

That would be brilliant as it is not nice cleaning out the litter tray, but it is essential. If you have a dirty litter tray your cat may decide to pick a nice fresh area of carpet to pee on instead of using a smelly box.

Are these flushable litters biodegradable and safe for the environment ?
Anyone care to share ?

We use one which is 'flushable' down the loo too. I think flushable kitty litter is a fantastic invention, as every time your beloved cat uses the litter tray, you can simply and cleanly remove the soiled area, leaving a fresh clean litter tray for your cat.

Often cats wont use a tray which is previously soiled, like our spoiled cat Princess.

Hope this helps you decide which is best. I know someone who uses one which is made from the fiberous part of coconut, that is biodegradable too.

ive been told that flushable litter isnt safe, not because of the litter but because of the fact that cat's feces could toxify water sources. we use crystal cat litter -- works great for absorbing urine. We also use a scoopfree box (scoopfree.com) which helps as we dont have to scoop the poop, and we end up tossing out the entire tray. Not too shabby!
